Local meat and produce, farm-raised game, and stream trout are key menu items,. In summer,. herbs and vegetables fresh from our kitchen garden give foods and especially homey taste. And every morning, freshly baked breads, cakes, pies, and pastries emerge from our kitchen. Douglas Gibson, Chef Doug Gibson is a master of Southern cooking. For the past ten years, he has been at the forefront of developing and refining a Virginia regional cuisine based on traditional dishes. Growing up in a rural farming community near Baltimore, he learned about the tradition, cultivation, and preparation of Southern food. It was there that his devotion to local ingredients began. Doug began experimenting with ways to prepare restaurant dishes that combined the freshness and flavors of those prepared at home. As his philosophy evolved, he apprenticed and learned the techniques of preparing fine cuisine from many recognized authorities in the field. As executive chef, he developed many of the dishes you can enjoy at Willow Grove. Today, his philosophy continues. He works with both our chefs to prepare innovative cuisine that features new approaches to many of the dishes he remembered from childhood.
